03 May - 06 May 2010

The only construction exhibition serving the markets of Jordan, Iraq, Syria and the Palestinian Territories – Incorporating Rebuild Iraq Exhibition

Exhibition Overview
The Best Contacts, the Right Environment
Project Near East 2010 will put you and your product or service in the same room as the high-flying investors, developers, government officials and other key players responsible for billions of dollars' worth of construction projects already under way or still on the drawing board in Jordan, Iraq, Syria and the Palestinian Territories. The region is in the midst of a multi-year construction boom, so now is the time to break into these markets, or to boost your existing presence. PNE 2010 is the ideal time and place to get face-t-face with large numbers of important contacts whose access and influence can make all the difference for you and your company.

Amman: Brining it all together
Jordan's capital is the perfect spot to host such an ambitious event. Thanks to natural advantages like strategic location, open relationships with neighboring countries and business-friendly laws for foreign investors, Amman's reputation as a hub for business is well established. The Kingdom's political and economic stability have fostered its position as a trade base, particularly for Iraq, Syria and the Palestinian Territories.

The markets at a glance
Jordan- Jordan has largely been buffered from the worst excesses of the global financial crisis, thanks to the relatively sheltered financial sector. Since 2003, Jordan has served as a primary point of entry for Iraqi-bound trade, particularly for destinations in the western provinces. However, Jordan has taken a number of steps to increase the flow of goods and capital between the two countries. One key step has been the Jordanian government's decision to relax residency rules for Iraqis, which came into effect in February 2009. The new regulations make it easier for Iraqi investors to come and do business in Jordan. The Kingdom offers a variety of opportunities for construction professionals, including many highlights.

Syria- The driving force behind the resurgence of Syria's construction sector is a supply shortage caused by runaway demand for residential, office, retail and tourism properties. The country's own population is growing by 3 percent a year, and a large influx of Iraqis has only added to the shortfall, creating a need for projects of all shapes and sizes to fill the gaps. With the state continuing to invest heavily in housing and private developers mainly concentrating on high-end developments, attractive features are multiplying on a daily basis.

Palestinian Territories- The building and construction industry has long been one of the leading economic sectors in the West Bank and Gaza. In the latter region especially, public and private plans call for billions of dollars' worth of reconstruction in the wake of Israel's December 2008-January 2009 military offensive. International governments and aid agencies are still in the process of drawing up development packages that are sure to provide for dozens of projects ranging from housing and transportation to water and electricity. The Palestinian Territories will offer a variety of possibilities for forward-looking construction professional.

Iraq- The Iraqi government has undertaken a massive $70 billion plan to rebuild all manner of physical infrastructure, making the country a veritable gold mine for anyone working in the construction sector. Now awakening after years of isolation, the Iraqi market is awash in opportunities, particularly since virtually all of the governments' development plans include considerable construction requirements.
